Here you'll find the most updated version of the TinyMCE plugin for MODx.  To see what's new with TinyMCE, take a look at the Changelog page on MoxieCode's website.

v2.01 - 9/20/2005:
- Updated editor to TinyMCE 2.0RC2.
- Removed all but english language files from editor and plugins to cut down on size. Language files will be integrated back in once language preferences are fixed in MODx.

v2.02 - 10/4/2005:
- Updated editor to TinyMCE 2.0RC3.

v2.03 - 11/16/2005:
- Updated editor to TinyMCE 2.0RC4.
- Added a Web Theme parameter to allow selection of a theme when being used on the front-end.

v2.0.1 - 1/5/2006:
- Updated editor to TinyMCE 2.0.1 final.
- Changed versioning to reflect the version of the editor.

v2.0.2 - 2/6/2006:
- Updated editor to TinyMCE 2.0.2.
- New version adds a new cleanup routine that out performs the previous one in both performance and flexibility.

v2.0.4 - 2/28/2006:
- Updated editor to TinyMCE v2.0.4.
- Skipped over the v2.0.3 release due to quick release time of v2.0.4.

v2.0.5.1
- Updated editor to TinyMCE 2.0.5.1.
- Added language selection based on current language selected in the manager. Front-end language selection will be available with the release of MODx v0.9.5.

v2.0.6.1
- Updated editor to TinyMCE 2.0.6.1.
- Added path option that allows for selecting how paths will work for internal links.
- Enabled new plugins for CSS style support and layer properties for the Full Featured theme.
- Fixed missing language files.

Also, with the 2.0.5.1 release, I'll need help in translating the language files.  If you look in the lang directory for the plugin, you'll see the language files.  These are laid out the same as they are in MODx but are specific to the plugin.  If you update one of these files, please send me a copy so I can update the distribution.  Thanks a bunch!  Smiley

NOTE: In regards to the Web Theme parameter, this is a global parameter that is on the configuration tab of the plugin itself.  Keep in mind that the Web Theme parameter will be used as the theme for any and all RichText template variables that use TinyMCE as its editor.

Hi - I'm new to MODx and so far it's been a breeze to get things going (out of the box that is). I'm attempting to install TinyMCE but keep having trouble with the database connection (I checked the settings and they're fine). Perhaps I'm not uploading the plugin in the right place?

Thanks!

Put the two folder in your MODx install and run the installer by http://yourhost/install

Jeff, I just download this plugin and it seems to work very nicely!  Would you have any plan on upgrade TinyMCE to the latest 2.0.3?

Thanks

Hi Bravado,

I try to change the tinyMCE language to french but I can't find how to do it... Is it possible ?
I see that a french file is available here : assets\plugins\tinymce\jscripts\tiny_mce\themes\advanced\langs but how can I call it in the script ?

And, how do I add an element in the format list ? Would like to add span element.

Thx in advance Wink

Edit : another request  Embarrassed Is it possible to add this plugin to tinyMCE ? Have tried to put all the files from this archive in assets\plugins\tinymce\jscripts\tiny_mce\themes\advanced and the only thing I got was a problem with language  Grin

Did I understand this correct?

I upload the Modx install folder, place TinyMCE inside, then upgrade?

When you unzip the files, you'll see two folders: install and assets.  Place the Install directory in the root of your MODx site.  Then place the tinymce directory in the assets/plugins folder in the assets/plugins folder on your MODx site (same directory where the fckeditor directory is).  After that, just visit the install directory to install the plugin (http//yourmodxsite/install/).  After installing the plugin, be sure and delete the install directory off your server.  That should do it!  Smiley

Hi Bravado,

I try to change the tinyMCE language to french but I can't find how to do it... Is it possible ?
I see that a french file is available here : assets\plugins\tinymce\jscripts\tiny_mce\themes\advanced\langs but how can I call it in the script ?

Funny you should mention the language settings!  I've been thinking about this too.  I'll take a look at all the available editors and see if there's a quick and dirty way to change the language settings.  In my opinion, they really need to be set so that the plugin assigns the language based on the current user's language preference or whatever MODx is set to.  Definitely need to make this happen soon!  Wink

And, how do I add an element in the format list ? Would like to add span element.

Hmm...need to look at that.  Been meaning to play with that too and add it as an option for the editor settings.

I'll take a look at the plugin and, if it looks like something everyone could use...what the hell...might as well add it in as a default!  If not, I'll send you instructions on how to add it in.  Smiley

More to come...

Why don't we just replace FCK with Tiny as the default since tiny does less of a butchering job of the code anyway, and Safari should work with it soon?
