Comments and discussion here please. Bug reports to JIRA, which now has a link in the header of the theme.

To date it's not been included, but I think it should probably be added to the search results page as an option. Any suggestions in general in this regard?

Background of the top of the page looks broken to me. Get the same thing on IE and Firefox. See attached PNG.

Other than that, looks great!

That is insane and I don't even know how to reproduce that. Can't fix if I can't reproduce! Any ideas what's causing it in your end (and what browser versions/plugins)?

I thought it was amazing that it was fixed as soon as I posted... It turns out that you only see this when you are not logged in. As soon as you log in (to post) the problem goes away.

I love MODx!

Yep. I'm here to report the same thing. It is totally messed up when not logged in, no matter the browser/platform combination.

Hi
I did a diff of the header section. If you are NOT logged in there are two div's that are not properly closed.

validator.w3.org sais:
Quote
end tag for "div" omitted, but OMITTAG NO was specified

The two div's are in the #mainheader section.
Code:
<div id="avvy">
<div class="recentLinks">

This is how it looks in IE7 currently, the header image is missing, and also the pushup method your using for informing users they got an old crappy browser
is only working in FF 2.0 and Opera 8 and not in IE7.

For the rest this skin looks really good, nice and clean, no more ugly black :-)

It is very bright; it actually inspired me to dig through my stash of quilting fabrics and pull out some orange, pink, green and blue pastel and make a crib-size quilt; it's just too hot to work on anything any bigger. It's a Card Tricks block with a wide Piano Keys border. It came out quite nice; light, bright and summery. I called it Summer Citrus. Now all I have to do is quilt the thing (we quilters call all of those unquilted tops and stacks of pieced blocks we invariably have laying around UFOs  Grin )

Berating the internet one line of code at a time

WWW
It's very nice indeed and polishes the site off nicely.

With regards to the Google search - I personally never (intentionally) used it and sometimes found myself starting to enter searches into it thinking it was the forum search function, which I found works perfectly fine with the right search criteria. So, if anything, two searches confused me to begin with.

With regards to the brightness - I'm fairly sure this is because so many of us visit the forums so regularly that our brains just aren't expecting it to be this bright Wink Over time I'm sure it will become less of a shock Smiley

Good work all round!

I really like the new skin, but I'm concerned that the forum is still fairly unusable in IE7. There's no way to see new replies to your posts and the top menu is missing.

Also, I was unable to find this thread using the search box with a search any of the following:
new forum skin
forum skin
forum
skin

I got a bunch of posts from 2005 and 2006.

After I found it (using Google), I tried the search again and found it right away. Kind of mysterious.

I seem to be one of the very few, but I kind of prefer the old skin.
It could be just me, but the first thing I did when I saw the forum with the new skin, was zoom out. It was as if everything was bigger than before and a little too big in my opinion.
And as mentioned above: in IE7 the top image isn't shown, which makes it impossible to read the top navigation menu.
I'm currently posting this in FireFox, and there's no problem with the image there.
