Can anybody explain eForms &protectSubmit better than the instructions that come with it please?

I'm using eForm in various places on the web site and while i have "formid" different for all of them they still seem to clash.

I temporarily have  &protectSubmit=`0` on the checkout eform for testing purposes but would rather it on so the user doesn't try to submit two orders accidentally (say by hitting back button and then submit again).
