Ok this is the first release of my Template Manager MODxGreen
It's more similiar to MODx branding colours (i never loved actual XP/OSX style Roll Eyes)

To complete install - simply upload 'manager' folder in your MODx root - Than select MODXGreen in manager template settings

NOTE the complete installation overwrite 4 files:

manager/frames/topbar.php (changes the topbar background color to black)
manager/frames/1.php (changes the  border frame colour to green - only for IE)

manager/includes/accesscontrol.inc.php (change styles and colours of login access to manager)

media/images/misc/logo.png (change MODx logo in Home section of manager)

This is the new style of manager

Hmm...maybe we could make a quick alteration for the next release that will allow for dropping in new templates?  Modifying the core isn't a good thing really.  Granted, there's no way around it right now...but with a small alteration to the manager, I think we could at least allow for the addition of custom templates.  Hmm...much to think about!  Wink

Thank Wink

I think there not much work to make more skinnable actual template system

we need to :

- apply a style to  the topbar background in manager/frames/topbar.php

- clean css styles in  manager/includes/accesscontrol.inc.php and put in manager/media/style/templatename/style.css

- refer media/images/misc/logo.png in css style (optional)
- clean up colour of frame borders in frame/1.php (optional)

I have to agree with you Jeff.
I mean, the next major release that Raymond will do towards the manager will be the way to go, but before that, we might need an option to have color changes of the manager, so people can pick and choose which color they prefer.

Nice one Banzai!

This deserves to be the new default. Outstanding job.

That's quite a statement from our founder. Grin So will it be shipped with 0.9.2 release?

Probably would have to agree here....

However, you should look at a copy of what I was working on a little while back.  What you've done is fairly close to what I did (interesting enough!).  I'll just post it and you can see the difference.  My color scheme is a bit different and I changed the icons as well.  We might be able to sort of merge the two ideas together into something that has a bit more spit and polish to it.  Wink

To add to the party, I took Banzi's skin and made of few tweaks of my own. Here is a screencap:

If anyone wants, I can put the files up as well.

For beginners like me, a few points:

1. Don't delete the existing Manager folder. These are additional files uploaded into the current Manager folder.

2. Open the Manager and select Administrator.

3. Select Miscellaneous Settings.

4. Choose ModX Green from the Manager Theme option.

5. Save.

@Jeff -- post up your stuff in this thread, please, and let's get to consolidating indeed.

@Mark -- ditto.

Thanks for the tip Russ, too. Smiley
