DHTML menu: Meta tag problem

Hey guys! I’m new to modx, did my first fresh install today.

The first thing I did after the install process was to copy xhtml/css (also the image folder and script folder) from my dreamweaver project and make a modx template. It surprised me how easy it went and I love the system so far. Good job guys!! However one problem did occur…
In my design/template I have a DHTML dropdown menu with Danish letters, on Dreamweaver I inserted this Meta tag:

“<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"/>”

And it showed the letters perfectly. But transferred to modx , the Danish letters becomes big “?” as they also were on Dreamweaver previous the meta tag.

Help would be much appreciated!  Smiley

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to modx norlin!!  Grin

The only thing  I can think of.....did you also set the correct character encoding in modx admin backend? Maybe it's still reading that as utf-8 or something. Check this in admin (backend) - tools - configuration....character encoding. Set the encoding you want there (drop down menu)

enjoy your time here; I am!
