Hi,

I'm a part-time freelance web designer who has just stumbled on this awesome CMS!!! Been on the other side of the pond for too long (joomla, drupal, etc). MODx offers just what I need - great flexibility! I'm so excited!  Grin

I've been going through the forum and it seems you have a nice friendly community. I think am gonna have a nice time here. Am totally hooked! The showcased sites have blown me away!

Gone through the documentation - am getting there, slowly....

Many thanks to the authors; keep up the good work!

Welcome aboard. MODx takes a lot of unlearning habits from other systems so clear your mind and forget most everything you know; once you get there I think you'll be really excited and empowered. Smiley

MODx is a framework that allows web professionals to turn over sites to end-users for daily maintenance without worrying. Community participation and questions are encouraged, especially when you help us help you, read the wiki, and review snippet parameters – even if you have to look at the source. Searching the forums helps, too.

Welcome to the club. I don't know how far you have gotten yet, but a great way to get your hands dirty is by installing the demo site on your local computer and use it as a playground to test how things works.

Thanks guys,

Funny, dev_cw, I have just finished reading your post how u started with MODx. Anyways, I have installed it on a local server (xammp) and been playing with it - was up the whole night!. I have read the documentation and some of the wiki and going through the forum too.

I'm trying to de-clutter my mind of other CMS and get my mind round TVs and WF....

Welcome!

I am in the same boat: part time freelance web designer. I also tried a bunch of the most common CMS platforms out there. In the end I settled on MODx. For me the bottom line was that it fits in with custom presentation and design better.

I am sure you will experience some bumps on the road but this forum is very helpful...
