I was going to use NewsFeed snippet.
But, it is not cool that extension of a XML file takes "html"
when I turned on 'friendly_alias_urls'.
Therefore, I suggest assigning the separate extensions for each content-type.
Like AddType of Apache.

example:

application/xhtml+xml   <- xhtm
text/html      <- html
text/css      <- css
application/rdf+xml   <- rdf

This really is a good idea. What do you guys think? I would vote for this feature to be added in the future release.

Funny, I was thinking about this ! I second that Smiley

I think it would just require tweaking the rewrite rules. I am no expert but I don't think it would require major work here.

I second this, there is possibly a solution on the following thread, although I haven't tried the last option as I must have missed that post, but the previous ones weren't successful.

I totally agree. And I think an extension to this would be to add the file extension as part of the definition of the types in the manager. It'd be cool also to linke the mime-type + disposition + extension and have them all be defined/accessed from a single location.

Anyone want to track that referencing the relevant threads?

Shouldn't disposition still be separate?  I mean, you could have a need for inline and attachment content from the same file type, right?

Dimmy, I think you can access the page without the extennsion though. So if you set the alias as style2.css, and the extension is .html, then you can access it using both style2.css or style2.css.html

Hope it will help you having a more common naming for your dynamic css

Dont you use [~id~] for links ?

or you can link in 4 styles:

[~id~] -> style2.css.html

handcode -> style2.css

handcode -> style2

handcode -> 123 (simple id of the document)

first 1 is best though Wink , others are just explored when working .. Cheesy

regards,

zi

i just took the simple option and disabled the extention in the config then i set a filename instead of an alias so homepage alias is acctualy index.html instead of just index ect ect, it helped me with creating my robot.txt file and my sitemap.xml file...
