WWW
Hi PROs...

I want to create a Homepage for a Travelagency.
I tried Joomla, which was not really the thing i searched for.
i need a CMS that is easy to use and where i'm able to playe Advertisement on
one Side. ( i have the code and the links for the affiliates )
Example : i press the CAR Link, page opens and a caradvertisement is placed on the right side.
then i press for example flights and a flight page opens with another ad i placed ON THIS PAGE.

am i allowed to place links here ? if not, please delete it. i do not want to make adverising here...
it should work like this page : www.cleverontour.de
Just with better Design and a CMS  Wink

in joomla u had to place the pictures extra..

so... is MODx the right thing or is it hard to place some things on pages ?

to manage banner and ads code (adsense too) i use this little tip:

1) create chunks with code of any banner and call like : LastMinuteBanner, TravelBanner, AdsenseBanner468x60, Adsense250x300 etc...

2) create a new chunk called BannerList and put call to banner's chunk linke this

Code:
nobanner=={{nobanner}}||LastMinute=={{LastMinuteBanner}}||Adsense468=={{AdsenseBanner468x60}}|| adsense250=={{Adsense250x300}}

like: shortname=={{nameofchunkbanner}}||

3)create a template variable called BannerPlace :

name: BannerPlace
input type: DropDown List Menu
input: @CHUNK BannerList
default: {{adsense468}}
widget: HTML generic tag - DIV

4) Put in your template [*#BannerPlace*]

Now you can change banner in any page using the front end and quick edit tags.

5) you can create different template variable and different banner list for left side  or header (like [*leftBannerPlace*] and [*headerBannerPlace*], to call different banner size.
