I've put up a couple of simple templates at http://www.sottwell.com, at the downloads link.

One is just a very basic floated div layout, no images, ready for "dressing up".  You can see it at the "games" link from the home page.

The other is a similar layout, but with a green spring-type theme, images are included.  The banner's background image could easily be changed to give it a different look.  You can see it at the "links" link from the home page.

See you have also got most of the default snippets from the Etomite site - and most of them have specific Etomite functions in them ! Wonder what jaradc would think ?

But surely they would not work in MODx ?

I am new to MODx so don't know, but I run an Etomite site and have written quite a few snippets and chunks. If they are easily converted I would be over the moon !

As noted elsewhere, we've maintained backward compatibility with Eto snippets. They all (should) work.

That download section is about to be "deprecated", anyway; it was put up before the modxcms site was available.  I just haven't taken the time to do anything with it, mostly for nostalgia's sake.

Uggggg... I hate that silly name (ThrashBox)... lol...

Other than that, though, looks cool.

The funny thing is I found a PlamOS Software store the other day built entirely of those boxes just about... lol

I noticed a small problem sottwell with your site in FF 1.0.6 on Windows XP SP2.
It does work fine in IE though.

Very odd.  Works fine in Safari and FF 1.0.6/Mac.

that breaking issue is very common and it has to do with font sizes. It does not really matter which browser but if one renders the fonts bigger or you have your fonts set to a bigger default than the developer of a site desired it will push things out of place and you get that issue.

I'm not sure if anybody is interested but I also have quite a few themes up on my site some are experimental and don't work fully but most do.I dont have a download section yet so if you are interested just ask.

I'm sorry if this is thread jacking let me know and I delete the link.

I certainly have no objection. I'm pretty easy to get along with  Wink

I imagine that the font size issue would cause the block to be slightly bigger, and it would be just a bit too big for the "sliding-door" image to cover.  I'll just extend the left side of the right image a few pixels.

ALERT
thread jack!

hehe, sorry susan!

webmedic

Could you send me your koobric-3 column template?  I've been trying to get my head around the way you did your template for the past 2 days.  Well, actually Susan's design with the thrashbox too.

Thanks!
carsten[at]qooq.com

I'm actually stuck between both the koobric look and the thrashbox one.  Also, the CSS level is still way above mine so I figure that by these examples I could extend my own abilities.  I'm lacking that's for sure.  My goal is to build a template with ZERO tables.  lolo, just to say that I can do it Cheesy

Thanks!!!

Maybe you would get a bang out of my Mondrian template!

Two-columnT-box will be made available when I get this dynamic sideblock placement worked out.

hehe, saw that one.  Not bad but my target audience is in need of something a little  more simple and dumbed down.  Japan is still has a bit to go before I throw something interesting out there. ugh
