I am a newbie modx. but I have a supperter site for mybb (for turkish user) I have got a lot of translation. So I want to translate modx. is there an inconvenience??

Hi everyone,

I' m translating modx to Turkish. I almost finish manager language files. But I have some problems.
When I set the Turkish language for the manager interface, Turkish characters was broken. May be encoding problems. Where can I set the Turkish encoding for the manager interface? Same problem with the ContactFormReport chunk. I can get the mail from website but Turkish characters wrong.

ben türkce konüşmaya bilirim ama kendi systemde türkceyi setaplanmamişam! ışte setaplandım!
ama biraz türkceyi ünüttüm, eğer konuşa bilmedim bırlıkte ingilzce konüşarim?

its better to use modx0.9.6, when you want to create a database try to set it to utf8_turkish_ci with the same db collation and when your are about to insert installation details, note to enter the same db collation again, this way you'll get the best results for turkish charset encodings when it is applied to use utf8 on the manager configuration settings. to set the site encoding, login to the manager , go: tools > configuration / site > charset encoding: utf8

there is a tremendous difference in language files from 0.9.5 to 0.9.6 , better not to waste the time, go straight and get the latest language files directly from this topic, when you are done, zip them all as it is in english one and upload it there only...
let me know if you face some problems...

Get the attached file and drop/replace the .txt extention by .php and try it out... let me know about the results :-)

Seems that you have misconfigured the database setting at the installation process... you should choose a correct db_collation_setting for the modx database and the other thing to save the language files under UTF-8 encoding.
FYI: you can check the database settings from your config file.

Definitely looks like a character set/collation mismatch to me. Those can be a major pain to debug, but I bet MotSmart can give you some useful pointers. I've never tried to do anything in Turkish before personally...

MotSmart has fixed my problem. i m thank him very much. My problem is turkish.inc.php file has not saved at UTF-8 format i selected all things and copy/paste new document and saved at UTF-8 format now index and management page working well. new ss is:

Had a little chat with him and... Yes it was collation misconfiguration before plus the manager language file encoding mismatch :-)

i have new problem i m still translating lang files but site makes some problem. now i havent charset problem but when saving tools> configuration> -save- then i see this error always :

and when try to logout the manager i see this error :

All permissions not changed site works other languages well and working localhost!!! without problem...

It sounds to me as if you have one or more characters outside of the <?php ?> tags in your language file. If any text at all is sent to the browser (and this text probably would be), then you can't modify the headers afterwards, which would explain the errors. It could be just a space or a carriage return, and if you delete it that will probably fix the issue.

I had searched for the turkish charset issue that we had before and have found the  above solution for it, The reality is turkish characters have its own language library beside utf-8 that ultimately renders all the characters, So now you test once more!, Please note that you have to save the manager and every files that you have translated in the same format, ie: ISO 8859-9.

Save the files with ISO 8859-9 encoding and create the database with the collation of latin5_turkish_ci .

Refer to collation sets of database for further information.

Çokdan onje biri Serhat ismiyle vardi ki MODixin bazı fılelarını türkçe dile translate edilmişti ama oda tamamlanmamişdi, O kardeşimden türkçe translatesini almişdim ki onün problemisini gorum nedir, herhalda O filellar bende var ve eğer istersan onlari bulmakdan sonra sana gondere bilirim, yineden diğerim kı olar kamil değil ama türkçeye gosterme ıçın hiç bir problemi yokdur.
