MODx CMS is offered in two release branches. The release based on our legacy code—MODx Evolution—has existed since 2004 and runs websites all over the world. Our completely rewritten MODx Revolution GA release will occur in late 2009. The beta is available today.
Don't think for a second you'll be stranded using "old" code. That's just not the way we do things at MODx. Sites created in Evolution should be able to be migrated to Revolution with minimal effort, while support and development of Evolution will continue based on community demand.

This final minor release in the 0.9.x series of releases features a wealth of new features and bug fixes. MODx Evolution 1.0 will continue where 0.9.6.3 leaves off.
