Get the latest MODx releases
MODx is available in two versions. MODx Revolution, our new, completely rewritten and powerful web content management framework and MODx Evolution, our classic code-base that has helped build thousands of sites since 2004.
Which MODx version should you choose?
MODx Revolution is our new, more powerful and extensible MODx. It already has many of the key add-ons you'll need for your project and new ones are being built every day. MODx Revolution has a complete API and better caching and parsing for high performance environments. If you are just starting out with MODx you should start here.
MODx Evolution is a proven, lightweight and stable platform for managing content and applications. MODx Evolution will continue to be maintained and for the foreseeable future based on community demand. If you are upgrading from a previous version of MODx Evolution or 0.9.x then this will be the version for you. MODx Evolution has hundreds of add-ons available, so if you depend on third party add-ons for delivering your projects, it is for you.
