Open Source software propent and Web standards believer, Jeff has developed a philosophy that dictates that less is more and that good enough usually isn't good enough. As such, Jeff feels that the products and solutions he uses on a daily basis reflect this philosophy, which includes MODx. His wife, Sarah, has managed to survive the geekiness within their home since the time they were married in December, 2005.

In a recent article on the ZDNet Australia site, Seth Gottlieb, content management practice lead for Optaros, had a portion of a whitepaper entitled Content Management Problems and Open Source Solutions that he wrote reprinted. In it Seth describes some basic things to consider when choosing an open-source content management system. A lot of what he says is just plain common sense. But some of the things he mentions are things that could easily be overlooked...even for a project like MODx.

A few years ago, back when I was just first starting out with the PHP language, I had a goal to find a good, solid application that would meet some of my needs for a personal site I wanted to deploy.
